500 Amazon Workers Demand Remote Work at AWS

500 Amazon Workers Demand Remote Work at AWS

According to Reuters, over 500 Amazon employees wrote a letter to AWS CEO Matt Garman on Wednesday, imploring him to rescind the company’s complete return-to-office policy

In September, Amazon requested that employees return to the office five days per week beginning in 2025.

According to reports, the AWS CEO previously informed employees that nine out of ten employees he conversed with favored the policy. This letter refutes the assertion that the RTO policy was broadly supported, asserting that the statistic is incongruous with the experiences of numerous employees. The employees in the letter expressed their “appallement” at Garman’s non-data-driven explanation.

It appears that AWS is adhering to its RTO policy. Matt Garman informed employees that they could work elsewhere if they did not enjoy the office environment this month.
