Peter McCormack, the club’s founder and a prominent crypto podcaster, disclosed that RBFC has acquired Bitcoin valued at $4.5 million.
RBFC currently possesses 82.7 Bitcoins, valued at $5.37 million and acquired at an average price of $64,925 per Bitcoin.
McCormack’s vision of utilizing digital assets to fuel the club’s ambitious ascent through the footballing divisions is consistent with this strategic investment.
Supporting the Underdog Team in Football
In 2021, McCormack acquired Real Bedford in Bedford, United Kingdom. McCormack desires to elevate the organization to the football league, which requires significant financial support and innovative strategies.
His cryptocurrency expertise and extensive network within the crypto community, including backing from Winklevoss Capital, establish a robust foundation for this endeavor.
McCormack stated that 15.8 Bitcoin is designated for football-related expenditures, while the remaining balance is securely stored in the club’s treasury.
Winklevoss Capital, an investment firm established by twin brothers Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, invested $4.5 million in RBFC in April.
Following the investment, McCormack and both Winklevoss brothers are co-owners of RBFC.
