Instagram Adds Stickers, Editing, Themes to DMs

Instagram Adds Stickers, Editing, Themes to DMs

Meta-owned Instagram is enhancing its messaging platform with new features for photo editing, sticker creation, and theme customization

The company is adding features to Instagram that will make it more appealing as a messaging app so that talks are more attractive.

Some of these features may not seem very new, but the whole point is to make it easier for users to send a message by eliminating any problems that might stop them.

Also, the inbox, also known as DMs (direct messages), is a tool that social apps like Meta’s Threads, which competes with Twitter/X, use to stay ahead of the competition.

Other startups, like Bluesky, are adding direct messages (DMs) to their apps, but Threads still uses Instagram’s DMs for people who want to talk to each other secretly.

With the new features that came out today, Instagram users can now make stickers in the direct messages system.

You can get a picture from the library and use a cutout of something to make a response sticker here.

These days, WhatsApp got a similar tool for making stickers earlier this year. Also, the iPhone has a tool that lets you create stickers that you can use in any app.

Before sending a picture to a friend on Instagram, you can add stickers or draw on it.

Before, these tools were only used by the Stories creator. That meant that if you wanted to send a picture with stickers or scribbles, you had to save it and then send it through a direct message.

You can make these changes right now in the chat window.

They can also post a note on their birthday so their friends can wish them a happy birthday. When they tap on the note, the screen will show an animation of a cake and fireworks.

Celebrating birthdays is one of the things that keeps people on Facebook even after all these years.

Adding more birthday parties to Instagram could help keep users on the app, even though TikTok and other apps are becoming more popular.

For chat, Instagram will add themes like “Fall” and “Sabrina Carpenter,” just like other message apps.

This week, Instagram added a new feature that lets users comment on Stories. This is also meant to get more people to interact with the app.
