Instagram Introduces Digital Business Cards

Instagram’s new profile cards offer a digital business card for your profile, making it easy to share your contact information and professional details with others

A few months ago, the Meta-owned social network was seen testing the feature with a small group of producers. Now it’s finally live.

You don’t have to send someone your Instagram handle to share your account; instead, you can show them the card. The new two-sided profile cards are meant to make this easy. They think it will make it easier for people to meet new people and become friends on Instagram.

On one side is a “card” that you can share that gets information from your Instagram profile, like your bio, profile picture, and any music or links in your profile. A QR number on the other side leads to your profile. You can add any picture you want to the background of your bio card to make it more personal.

The tool is for people who want to market themselves and make more connections. It is now rolling out to all users around the world. You can share your character card on other sites to get people to visit and follow your account.

Meta emailed TechCrunch to say it’s adding the feature because more Gen Zers are using Instagram as a resume. The business pointed to a new poll that showed more than half of Gen Zers want to be influential. Social networks want to help them show who they are to others.

Instagram says that users can quickly and easily share their character cards with brands or people who might want to work with them. For the same reason, the business thinks sharing the profile card in Instagram groups or online events can help people find new friends with related interests.

Since 2018, Instagram users have been able to share their accounts with QR codes. The new profile cards, however, give users a more complete way to do this. You don’t have to show a QR code. You can also give people a sneak peek at your content and hobbies, which could lead to more connections than a simple QR code.
