Roblox is now providing 25% more Robux to web and gift card buyers than app store buyers as global scrutiny of Apple and Google’s app store fees grows
The business recommends buying Robux online to avoid Apple and Google’s in-app purchase fees.
The company confirmed the move and said it is exploring for methods to benefit user and artist communities.
“Google and Apple are valued partners. We strive to provide our users and creators additional value while controlling costs.
A Roblox spokesman told TechCrunch that customers who buy Robux online, on a computer, or with gift cards will receive up to 25% more Robux.
Roblox stated in a developer forum post that this is a permanent change, not a holiday offer.
Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeny, who has fought Apple and Google over app store charges, praised this action.
