NYDFS Grants BitLicense For Anchorage Digital Subsidiary

NYDFS Grants BitLicense For Anchorage Digital Subsidiary

The approval of Anchorage’s New York subsidiary marks the 34th company authorized under the NYDFS BitLicense program since its 2015 launch.

Anchorage Digital, a bank that is open to cryptocurrency, has announced that its subsidiary has been awarded a BitLicense by the New York Department of Financial Services (NYDFS).

Anchorage Digital announced on December 16 that its New York branch had been granted a BitLicense, which will enable the company to provide services commencing in 2025.

Anchorage’s CEO, Nathan McCauley, stated that the license would enable the company to “offer regulated and efficient crypto trading services to clients in New York.”

Anchorage was not listed as a regulated entity in the US state on the NYDFS website at the time of publication.

Anchorage is not included in the 33 companies that have been approved by the financial regulator for the provision of crypto services since the BitLicense scheme was initially implemented in New York in 2015.
