Poll- 1 In 5 US Voters Involved In Crypto

An Emerson College poll shows 19% of US voters have used crypto, with most holding a favorable view of Donald Trump.

According to a recent survey conducted by Emerson College, approximately 19% of US voters have reported investing in, trading, or using cryptocurrency at some point.

The survey data released on Dec. 17 polled 1,000 registered electors between December 11 and December 13 and revealed that nearly 40% of respondents who used cryptocurrency also made a purchase.

According to Spencer Kimball, the executive director of Emerson College polling, crypto users are younger and have a larger minority base, underscoring that crypto is a diverse and developing constituency for political support.

Specifically, 57% of crypto users have a favorable opinion of Donald Trump.

The president-elect’s campaign saw him support the crypto industry, and he has since nominated several pro-crypto figures to serve as the heads of critical financial regulators, including the Securities and Exchange Commission.

According to Emerson’s survey, the majority of crypto users were under the age of 40, with nearly one-third of respondents having used the cryptocurrency.

Kimball observed that the percentage decreased as individuals aged, with “28% of voters in their 40s, 17% in their 50s, 9% in their 60s, and only 4% over 70 being crypto users.”

Men are also twice as likely to use cryptocurrency as women, with 26% of male respondents and 13% of female respondents reporting that they have used cryptocurrency.

Compared to a mere 14% of Caucasian individuals, approximately one-third of crypto users identified as Asian, Hispanic, or Black.

Similarly, approximately 40% of the surveyed respondents advocated for the prohibition of TikTok, a social media platform; however, their support declined for individuals under the age of 29.

Influence Of US Voters Is Increasing In Crypto

The Digital Chamber, a crypto advocacy group, conducted an additional survey on October 17 that revealed approximately 26 million US voters were members of a “crypto voting bloc” who consider pro-crypto policy to be a critical criterion when selecting a political candidate.

16% of the 1,004 respondents, or one in seven, indicated that crypto was “extremely” or “very” significant in their decision to vote for a candidate.

Over half of US electors were more inclined to vote for a pro-crypto candidate, according to a survey conducted by Grayscale and a market researcher.

The 2024 presidential election resulted in the appointment of hundreds of pro-crypto candidates to Congress.

Industry leaders have proposed that the United States government could adopt the most pro-crypto stance in history, which would lead to a more favorable regulatory environment.
