Spotify upgrades its AI DJ with voice command support, enabling users to personalize playlists and control playback through spoken requests
To enhance the interactive experience of its AI DJ, Spotify is implementing an update that will enable users to request music or modify the mood of a playlist through vocal commands. The company is making this feature available to its Premium subscribers in more than 60 markets, with initial support limited to English.
Previously, users were limited to listening to the AI DJ play songs with commentary interspersed between specific tracks. The feature is currently transitioning to an interactive format.
Users can instruct the AI DJ to alter the mood or genre or to play tracks from specific artists.
The AI DJ can be accessed by typing “DJ” into the search bar and then holding the DJ button in the lower right corner to issue vocal commands. The DJ button can be rapidly pressed to alter the playlist’s atmosphere without requiring a specific request.
Spotify introduced the AI DJ feature in the United States and Canada in February 2023. Subsequently, in August 2023, the organization implemented it globally. The music streaming company implemented support for a Spanish-speaking AI DJ last year.
Users can generate playlists by employing text prompts, another significant AI feature of the organization.
