Charles Hoskinson, the founder of Cardano, posted a cryptic tweet that hinted at the imminent launch of the Midnight project airdrop initiative. This occurred after the recent disclosure of its airdrop rate for holders of XRP, BTC, and other eligible tokens.

Charles Hoskinson suggested the possibility of a new stage in the Midnight airdrop campaign in an enigmatic post on X. The post immediately sparked a wave of enthusiasm. Holders of Cardano and XRP were particularly optimistic, as they are expected to benefit the most from the NIGHT token distribution.
There is a growing rumor that the Cardano Founder’s message refers to the Midnight token claim portal’s launch on August 5, even though this has not been confirmed. This could also indicate the existence of additional significant updates associated with the Glacier Drop snapshot.
Nevertheless, the Cardano Founder had initially disclosed that the official launch timeline would be disclosed during the Rare Evo conference, which is scheduled from August 6–10. Despite the delay, Hoskinson maintains that the airdrop will still occur in the latter half of 2025.
Hoskinson had confirmed that the Midnight Glacier Drop snapshot had been completed. The airdrop was intended to disseminate both NIGHT and DUST tokens. The distribution, which will occur across eight leading blockchains, will be received by approximately 37 million eligible users worldwide.
It should be noted that the Midnight Foundation had disclosed information regarding the airdrop’s distribution. At the time of the snapshot, over 62 billion XRP were in the possession of over 2.2 million XRP-holding accounts, which are eligible to receive NIGHT tokens at a conversion rate of 1 XRP to 0.04173 NIGHT.
Cardano is at the forefront of the allocation rankings, as over one million wallets are eligible for the airdrop. Holders of Bitcoin and Ethereum will also receive substantial rewards, with 696.97 NIGHT per BTC and 50.73 NIGHT per ETH.

The cryptocurrency community has expressed interest in the cross-chain implications of the forthcoming airdrop. The ADA holders will receive half of the 24 billion NIGHT tokens, while the remaining portion will be distributed to holders of XRP, BTC, ETH, and other cryptocurrencies.
NIGHT has the potential to be among the top 20 tokens if demand and adoption persist, as initial estimates place its value at $0.41. This has the potential to be a pivotal moment in adopting privacy and the integration of multiple chains by Web3.
The Cardano founder had previously responded to criticism by implying that he is impeding the advancement of Cardano. Hoskinson emphasized the increasing momentum of Midnight. He emphasized the potential for adoption, such as Wall Street’s interest in the privacy initiative, and reaffirmed his unwavering dedication to the long-term vision of both Cardano and Midnight.
