Midnight’s NIGHT token airdrop launches for ADA, BTC, ETH, and XRP holders, with Hoskinson marking six years of privacy-focused blockchain work.
The Midnight Airdrop has been officially inaugurated, enabling eligible holders of major coins, such as ADA, BTC, ETH, and XRP, to claim free NIGHT tokens. The Midnight Foundation announced and disclosed how token holders can obtain complimentary tokens.
Midnight Introduces the First-Ever NIGHT Token Airdrop with a Privacy-Focused Utility
The claim portal is operational, as indicated by an X post from the Midnight Network’s official account. Users are not required to purchase to participate, and they may reserve their allocations during the initial claim phase.
Charles Hoskinson, the founder of Cardano, had previously hinted at a significant Midnight update, claiming that it would establish a “whole new paradigm for data protection and private computation.”
Cardano holders receive the most NIGHT tokens. They are granted 50% of the token’s supply. Bitcoin holders receive 20%, while holders of ETH, XRP, SOL, BNB, AVAX, and BAT receive 30%. The USD value of their holdings is the basis for this division.
Wallets must have held a minimum of $100 in supported tokens when a verified snapshot was taken on their native blockchains to be eligible.
Additionally, only individuals who maintained balances during the snapshot window will be eligible to claim NIGHT tokens. The Midnight network, which prioritizes privacy, is powered by the NIGHT token.
It generates DUST passively, a shielded, non-transferable resource necessary for processing private transactions. Never is NIGHT directly burned or squandered. Currently, the network will not allocate the entire allocation to claimants. To prevent abuse and guarantee a fair rollout, tokens will progressively unlock during the forthcoming Redemption period.
Eligible users may verify their wallet status and commence the claim process at midnight.gd. To verify eligibility and finalize the process, claimants must adhere to the instructions provided on the website.
Hoskinson Applauds Six Years of Dedication
The Midnight Foundation verified the launch in a separate X post and directed users to the official site for claim instructions. An X Spaces event has been scheduled to assist eligible participants in gaining a more comprehensive understanding of the claim process.
Core team members from Midnight and IOHK will be present during the session. Charles Hoskinson, the founder of Cardano, also commemorated the inauguration. His X post referred to it as the outcome of six years of intellectual and practical endeavor.
He characterized the experience as a journey that was simultaneously intellectually stimulating and practically demanding. The Cardano founder also expressed his appreciation for the progress made in the project’s development, stating, “I trust that you will all find what we have jointly developed to be enjoyable.”
