Altcoin Season Delayed Without New Crypto ETFs

Altcoin season hype grows as Bitcoin sinks, but Bitfinex analysts insist it won’t arrive for at least another year.

The market is dominated by speculation about the altcoin season as Bitcoin plummets on the charts this week.

This is still the case today, as numerous cryptocurrency speculators have started exchanging different hypotheses and forecasts.

The Bitfinex analysts, however, have shut it down, asserting that AltSeason cannot begin until new cryptocurrency ETFs are introduced.

Bitfinex Analysts Think That Altcoin Season Will Start When New Crypto ETFs Come Out

According to Bitfinex experts in a market report released on Monday, the altcoin season won’t start until the SEC authorizes additional cryptocurrency exchange-traded funds.

More significantly, this would also be greatly influenced by the massive inflows of Bitcoin products.

“Rising tide lifts all boats’ environment” until later in the year when inflows into Bitcoin products regain momentum and new investment vehicles for altcoins are introduce

Notably, the SEC has been continuously delaying the clearance of numerous cryptocurrency exchange-traded funds (ETFs) this year, leaving investors waiting.

In an effort to properly comprehend and assess the implications of XRP ETFs and other filings, the SEC has lately postponed making a decision.

Despite their consistent stance on delays, Bitfinex analysts think these ETFs would generate continuous institutional buying regardless of market conditions.

They do not anticipate a bull market for altcoins without these factors.

What Does Market Attitude, Bitcoin Dominance Indicate For Altcoin Season?

Investors have been waiting for supremacy ever since the price of Bitcoin fell to its lowest point of the month.

Investors’ expectations of an AltSeason are further supported by the 6% decline in Bitcoin dominance in only one month, presently at 57.8%.

In addition, the Altcoin Season Index has risen to 44, and the topic has received a lot of social media mentions.

Nevertheless, the momentum is still not in favor of the altcoins.

The rest of the cryptocurrency market, including Bitcoin, is having difficulties.

Experts also point out that investors’ demand and appetite are far lower than what is needed for the AltSeason.

Most experts concur with Bitfinex analysts’ one-year forecast that the rise would start after this time, if the crypto ETFs are approved and Bitcoin receives fresh inflows.

The prediction gains more confidence when ETF specialist Eric Balchunas mentions possible approval in late 2025 and early 2026.

But some analysts, including Michaël van de Poppe, David Duong, and others, also predict an early AltSeason.
