The cryptocurrency industry is watching this year’s presidential elections since the U.S. is still unclear and strict regarding digital assets, but numerous politicians have openly supported cryptocurrencies
One of them was former President Donald Trump, whose decision to prioritize the market surprised many. Biden also joined the trend in response to Trump’s advancements.
Although many individuals believe that this was a ploy by both parties to secure votes, a few are hopeful that the impending presidential debate will include discussions about Bitcoin.
The inaugural presidential debate of the year will feature Biden and Trump. CNN will host the event and will commence at 9:00 p.m. Eastern Time on Thursday, June 27.
This will be the inaugural debate in which these candidates have participated since 2020. CNN’s Jake Tapper and Dana Bash are serving as moderators. The network stated that the moderators “will employ all available resources to ensure a civil discussion and enforce timing.”
They are anticipated to engage in discussions regarding various subjects, including cryptocurrency. Stand With Crypto, a prominent cryptocurrency advocacy organization, conducted an online letter-writing campaign encouraging CNN anchors to discuss cryptocurrency.
The letter has now garnered nearly 2,300 signatures. The letter stated,
“Providing the major presidential candidates with the opportunity to discuss this transformational technology during the inaugural debate would significantly contribute to the education of the electorate and the ability of American crypto owners to make an informed decision.”
This was not the entirety of the matter. Sabrina Siddiqui, the spokesperson, emphasized the significance of discussing cryptocurrency, stating,
“CNN would be remiss to squander this opportunity to inform the American public of the presidential candidates’ positions on this critical economic matter.”
