Brave Wallet Adds Support for Cardano

Brave Wallet Adds Support for Cardano

Brave Wallet integrates Cardano, expanding crypto support and allowing users to manage ADA directly within the privacy-focused browser’s built-in wallet

The cryptocurrency Cardano has been integrated into the browser-native wallet by Brave.

The integration is the result of a partnership between Brave Software, the company responsible for the privacy-first browser and multichain crypto wallet Brave Wallet, and Input | Output, a web3 blockchain infrastructure firm and Cardano developer.

The strategic partnership between IO and Brave, which was announced on May 12, is intended to provide users of the wallet with Cardano native assets. Functionalities such as send, receive, and exchange are also included in the full support for ADA.

In addition to token management, Brave Wallet will provide governance support for ADA holders, with the ability to utilize these capabilities directly from within the crypto wallet.

Brendan Eich, the chief executive officer and co-founder of Brave and the Basic Attention Token, observed that the integration extends beyond interoperability. It provides users with the necessary tools to engage in decentralized ecosystems in a seamless manner.

Eich also stated that the support improves user security.

“By bringing Cardano into Brave Wallet, we are not only expanding functionality for Cardano users in the age of on-chain governance, but also advancing a new standard for how blockchain networks should empower individuals—protecting privacy while enabling active, on-chain participation,” said Charles Hoskinson, CEO of Input | Output.

Cardano is now accessible through the privacy-focused and browser-native wallet of Brave, joining the ranks of cryptocurrency’s most prominent networks, such as Ethereum and Solana. IO and Brave intend to expand their partnership through future innovation, which will involve an engagement with Midnight, a blockchain that is based on data protection and powered by zero-knowledge proofs.

Decentralized applications on the Zcash, Filecoin, and Ethereum Virtual Machine chains are also supported by Brave Wallet. The wallet is accessible on both Android and iOS mobile devices and on desktop computers.

At present, Cardano’s ADA is the ninth-largest blockchain network in terms of market capitalization. In the interim, data from DefiLlama indicates that the total value of protocols on the network has increased to $395 million, a significant increase from the $259 million reported in early April.
