Arc, an alternative browser by The Browser Company, will release its Arc Search browser in open beta on Android for multi-platform use
Apple already had Arc apps until last year. In April, they released a Windows driver before going live on Android. The business said that 18,000 people used a closed beta program to try the Arc Search for Android for almost four weeks before releasing it today.
The company put search at the center of Arc Search for iPhone when it came out earlier this year. “Browse for Me” is a feature of the app that is also in the Android version. It looks at several web pages and creates a new page for your search query.
For example, the company thought that to find a recipe, you had to look through a lot of material without finding anything useful. An AI-powered program sorts through the noise in “Browse for Me” and shows you the important stuff.
Some people have said that Arc Search’s approach is wrong because AI search would hurt small websites whose material these tools summarize. A few weeks ago, Josh Miller, CEO of The Browser business, said on the Decoder podcast that the business is improving the citations on these results to get more people to click outbound links.

With the Android app, you can also stop ads, popups, and banners, and it can automatically archive tabs. The business said the Android app would be available to everyone sometime this fall.
Arc Search for iOS features are missing from the Android version when it first comes out. For example, you can’t pinch to recap or call to ask.
The Browser Company raised $50 million earlier this year at a value of $550 million. Unfortunately, the business isn’t making any money right now. Miller gave hints on Decode that the company will charge businesses and people for its 2.0 goods when they come out.
