Capella Hotel to Offer Crypto Payment Via Dtcpay

The luxury hotel brand Capella Hotel has partnered with dtcpay to accept Bitcoin and Ethereum as crypto payment options.

The Capella Hotel Group, a global leader in providing luxurious hospitality experiences, has partnered strategically with dtcpay, a blockchain payment infrastructure provider. The agreement aims to implement cryptocurrency payment options in the company’s global properties, including those in the Fari Islands of the Maldives and other luxurious destinations worldwide.

The partnership, announced on October 7, will allow Capella’s guests to utilize Digital Payment Tokens (DPTs) to pay for room reservations, dining, and other services. Bitcoin and Ethereum, as well as stablecoins such as USDT, USDC, and WUSD [NC], are all accepted as payment methods for room reservations, dining, and other services.

Luxury and Innovation in Digital Payments

Capella is now recognized as one of the first high-end hotels worldwide to implement crypto assets as a payment method. The group is renowned for its opulent design and world-class service, and it operates top-tier resorts in various iconic destinations, such as Sydney, Bangkok, Hanoi, Ubud, and Hainan.

The company, which has received numerous awards, operates two brands within its portfolio: Capella Hotels and Resorts, which is renowned for its stunning designs and immersive guest experiences that respect local culture, and Patina Hotels & Resorts, a contemporary luxury lifestyle brand that is designed for forward-thinking travelers who prioritize sustainability and creativity.

The group has broadened its payment options by collaborating with dtcpay, which enables guests from both hotels to pay for their rooms and dining with any accepted digital asset.

“We are delighted to announce our partnership with Capella Hotel Group, a true leader in luxury hospitality.” Capella Hotel Group can connect with a dynamic and expanding demographic of tech-savvy travelers searching for contemporary payment solutions by adopting Digital Payment Tokens, according to dtcpay.

An important milestone

According to the announcement, guests staying at Capella’s hotel in Singapore can scan a QR code on a dtcpay terminal at the front desk and use their digital wallets to complete payments with supported DPTs.

In the interim, Patina Maldives and Fari Islands guests will be able to make payments through a secure payment link provided by the hotel.

dtcpay, a payment infrastructure provider, regards the partnership with the hotel as a “substantial milestone in the redefining of payment experiences within the luxury hospitality sector.”

The organization is dedicated to improving the customer experience in various industries and providing innovative solutions that align with the changing preferences of consumers.

The hospitality industry has a low rate of cryptocurrency adoption

Although cryptocurrencies have become increasingly popular, their adoption in the hospitality industry could be more active. Nevertheless, forward-thinking brands are beginning to adopt the trend.

Pavilions Hotels & Resorts and The Chedi Andermatt broadened their payment options in 2021 to incorporate Bitcoin and other digital currencies. Guests were granted the opportunity to settle payments in cryptocurrency through a partnership between Palazzo Versace Dubai and Binance last year.

The future of hospitality may see a greater reliance on digital assets as more luxury brands, such as Capella, investigate crypto payments. This will offer travelers more excellent options for how they experience and pay for their stays.
