OpenAI has launched ChatGPT for Windows, enabling users to access advanced conversational AI directly on their desktop for enhanced productivity and seamless communication
ChatGPT is currently accessible on Windows.
OpenAI has announced today that it has commenced the development of a dedicated Windows application for ChatGPT, its AI-powered chatbot platform.
The app, which is currently exclusively accessible to ChatGPT Plus, Team, Enterprise, and Edu users, is an early iteration, according to OpenAI. It is expected to be released in advance of a “full experience” later in the year.
“The official ChatGPT desktop app enables users to communicate regarding files and photos,” according to OpenAI. “This application provides you with the most recent model enhancements from OpenAI, such as access to OpenAI o1-preview, our most advanced and sophisticated model.”
The ChatGPT app for Windows is compatible with the majority of Windows 10 machines; however, it is presently subject to certain constraints in comparison to other ChatGPT clients.
It is currently not compatible with voice, including Advanced Voice Mode, and certain integrations with OpenAI’s GPT Store are not operational.
The ChatGPT app for Windows, similar to the macOS version, enables users to minimize it to a tiny “companion” window that is displayed alongside other applications while they are working.
It is possible to input files and photos, summarize documents, and generate images using OpenAI’s DALL-E 3 image generator.
