Coinbase hosted a relatively sober evening for female sports enthusiasts

The Minnesota Lynx emerged victorious over the New York Liberty at the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) Commissioner’s Cup Championship on June 25, and women’s sports bars throughout the United States were brimming with enthusiastic supporters. Coinbase, which also sponsored the event, provided the entertainment.

The Sports Bra in Portland, Oregon, was at full capacity, with 56 patrons treated to bar cuisine and one complimentary glass of beer or wine. Coinbase has supported the NBA and WNBA for three years as part of a multiyear agreement. The Sports Bra, which debuted in February 2022 and boasted to be the world’s first women-only sports bar, is experiencing significant growth in tandem with the growth of women’s sports. According to reports, Nguyen generated $1 million in revenue during its initial eight months of operation, following its establishment through a Kickstarter campaign.

Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian’s 776 Foundation has invested in the bar, which intends to expand nationwide through franchising.
