On Thursday, CrowdStrike CEO George Kurtz claimed more than 97% of Windows sensors are back online nearly a week after a software update caused a global outage
The Falcon platform sensor, a security agent implemented on devices such as laptops and desktops, safeguards them from potential threats.
The outage occurred due to a fault in the advanced platform, which caused computers running Microsoft’s Windows operating system to collapse and display the infamous “blue screen of death.”
On Saturday, Microsoft announced that approximately 8.5 million Windows devices were impacted by the disruption, which resulted in the cancellation of flights, the suspension of broadcasters, and the denial of customers’ access to services such as banking and healthcare.
Kurtz stated in a post that developing automatic recovery techniques and mobilizing all resources to support our consumers have significantly improved our recovery efforts.
