Crypto.com Signs Eminem For NBA Playoff Ad

Crypto.com’s new ad featuring Eminem debuts during NBA playoffs, signaling potential collaborations between sports leagues & crypto industry.

A new commercial produced by Crypto.com in collaboration with the renowned rapper Eminem is scheduled to air this weekend during the NBA semifinals.

Like Coinbase’s television advertising campaigns, the advertisement suggests that significant sports leagues may re-engage with the cryptocurrency industry.

The New Sports Ad Campaign of Crypto.com

The advertisement begins with a bird’s-eye view of the Crypto.com Arena, formerly the Staples Centre and a multipurpose sports arena in downtown Los Angeles. The famous rapper posted the image to his Twitter page on Friday.

In addition to hosting the basketball competition during the 2028 Summer Olympics, the arena is slated to accommodate the L.A. Lakers vs. Denver Nuggets semifinal game on Saturday, the day its advertisement is scheduled to premiere.

“They ignored your potential, dissed your achievements, mocked your ambition… but it’s not the critic who counts, and you know that,”

The advertisement features an MMA fighter in training while donning a crypto.com uniform, sponsored by another sports organization, before his UFC match.

The advertisement will also be shown at upcoming UFC Fight Night and pay-per-view events, a Formula 1 Crypto.com Miami Grand Prix next month, and a Los Angeles Kings game in the NHL Playoffs, according to a press release.

The advertisement concludes that it is “Unavoidable, as it has always been.” Fortune favors the brave.

Rival transaction Coinbase has published numerous advertisements in recent weeks that use various pizza-related analogies to illustrate the superiority of cryptocurrencies as money.

Cryptocurrency Marketing: Eminem and Matt Damon

When used in a 2021 Crypto.com commercial starring Matt Damon, the concluding catchphrase became an internet meme. The commercial was criticized then for comparing cryptocurrency investing to Arctic exploration and landing on the moon.

The release date was approximately one year before Bitcoin’s annual peak, so the actor was compelled to provide an explanation when the asset’s value plummeted 75% twelve months later.

Specific followers were just as pessimistic regarding Eminem’s new advertisement appearance; some criticized the rapper for “selling out,” while others believed his ad signified the arrival of the market peak.

“Crypto.com is an exchange base app & is completely different from the NFT thing he did with snoop.”

Online Comment

Before this, Eminem established his own NFT collection and paid $462,000 for a famous “Bored Ape Yacht Club” (BAYC) NFT in 2021.
