World Labs, the new startup founded by Stanford professor Fei-Fei Li, has secured $230 million in funding from various investors, including Andreessen Horowitz, NEA, and Radical Ventures
Li is widely recognized as the “Godmother of AI.”
TechCrunch reported in August that World Labs was valued at more than $1 billion and that the capital was raised in two transactions spaced a few months apart.
Li’s organization is dedicated to developing AI models and comprehending and engaging with the 3D environment. It anticipates that its inaugural product will be available in 2025.
The company World Labs is in the process of creating “large world models” that will be utilized by professionals in the fields of engineering, development, design, and art. According to Martin Casado, a general partner at Andreessen Horowitz, World Labs’ clients may encompass movie studios or game companies, as Wired reported.
