Filigran Secures $35M for Cybersecurity Threat Suite

Filigran is a startup in Paris that is quickly becoming the next big thing in cybersecurity

The company just raised $35 million in a Series B round, just a few months after raising $16 million in a Series A round.

OpenCTI is Filigran’s main offering. It’s an open-source threat intelligence platform that lets businesses or government agencies bring in threat data from different sources and add information from CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, or Sekoia to make it more complete.

The open-source version of OpenCTI has been downloaded millions of times and improved by 4,300 security experts. The European Commission, the FBI, and the New York City Cyber Command use it. The business also has a corporate edition that can be used as a software-as-a-service product or hosted on-site. Airbus, Marriott, Thales, Hermès, Rivian, and Bouygues Telecom are some of the companies that have bought this software.

Filigran has been building a full-fledged cybersecurity suite called the eXtended Threat Management (XTM) suite by adding other goods and building on that success.

The OpenBAS platform is another item. It is used to simulate beach and attack scenarios. You can use OpenCTI and OpenBAS separately, but it is said that using them together gives you a better picture of the risks.

When your first product does well, bringing out a second one is always easier. Filigran is taking advantage of this. The new company is already making its third offering.

“By 2026, our goal is to offer a complete suite of three complementary products,” co-founder and CEO Samuel Hassine told TechCrunch. “These will provide end-to-end solutions in threat management that directly address the complex cybersecurity challenges modern organizations face.”

Interestingly, Filigran also gets ideas from GitHub and Hugging Face, where open-source software development and AI development happen. Hassine said that Filigran wants to launch XTM Hub by the end of the year. XTM Hub is “a collaborative platform designed to empower the cybersecurity community.”

He also said, “The hub will be a central place where users can get resources, share tradecraft, and connect with other people in the Filigran ecosystem.”

Insight Partners are leading the Series B round. Accel and Moonfire, two previous investors, are also investing again. Part of this round of funding will be used to grow Filigran’s position in other areas and make new products. It already does business in France, the US, and Australia and wants to grow to Germany, Japan, and Singapore.
