The company said this week that some iOS Gmail users can now talk to Google’s Gemini about their inbox in the app
The Gmail Q&A tool came out to Android users first in August.
People who pay for Google One AI Premium or Google Workspace and have Gemini Business, Enterprise, Education, or Education Premium add-ons can get it on iOS.
For example, “How much did the company spend on the last marketing event?” This tool can help you get clear answers to your emails. You can tell Gemini to show you unread messages from a certain sender and describe emails about a certain subject in your inbox. You could say, “Please send me the emails about 3-month planning.”
Google says that Gmail Q&A can find things in your email right now. In the future, it will also be able to see things in your Drive.
However, the standard search bar in Gmail will remain. The Gemini button will now be placed next to the search bar. People should use AI to find specific information in their emails instead of looking for emails the old-fashioned way. That’s the idea behind the feature.
Gmail Q&A probably won’t be available to free users for a while. This is because Google advertises features like Gmail Q&A to get people to sign up for monthly plans. These tools are probably Google’s best chance of making money with Gemini.
