On Tuesday, a source told Bloomberg News that hackers took internal papers from Leidos Holdings Inc., one of the largest U.S. government IT services suppliers
According to the report, the company has recently become aware of the issue. It is under the impression that the documents were stolen during a breach of a Diligent Corp. system it utilized. Leidos is currently investigating the matter.
According to the report, the Virginia-based company employed the Diligent system to host information obtained during internal investigations, which cited a filing from June 2023. The U.S. Department of Defense is the company’s primary customer.
Leidos has verified that the issue resulted from a previous incident that affected a third-party vendor. All necessary notifications were submitted in 2023.
“This incident did not affect our network or any sensitive customer data,” according to the organization.
According to a spokesperson for Diligent, the matter appears to be associated with an incident that occurred in 2022 and impacted its subsidiary, Steele Compliance Solutions.
In November 2022, the organization informed affected customers and implemented corrective measures to mitigate the incident.
