Hamster Kombat Postpones Token Airdrop, Expands Game

The popular Telegram crypto game Hamster Kombat has postponed its token airdrop as it continues to expand in preparation for the airdrop.

The native HMSTR token of Hamster Kombat, the ubiquitous tap-to-earn game based on the Telegram network, was scheduled to be launched on the TON blockchain by the end of July. Nevertheless, the team announced that it is still determining the platform’s capabilities to facilitate a large-scale airdrop, with only two days remaining until the end of the month.

Intriguingly, the Hamster Kombat website continues to display the July objective for the token generation event (TGE). However, the developers announced in a tweet on Monday, July 29, that it is improbable that they will receive the token within the next two days. The Hamset Kombat team declared:

“We are actively working to make it happen. Keep in mind that this is a very complex technical task for all the platforms involved since Hamster Kombat is one of the biggest projects in the industry and can become the biggest airdrop in history.”

Additionally, the team indicated that this scenario could result in network congestion. Additionally, the team expressed their desire for the airdrop to be as seamless as feasible, ensuring that all recipients receive their tokens. The Hamster Kombat team has stated that they are collaborating closely with the TON blockchain team to develop a technical solution for the airdrop that is both efficient and robust.

The anonymous development team of Hamster Kombat delayed the airdrop despite the fact that they did not explicitly state so. A representative of the team informed Decrypt of the delay:

“The team is actively working on making the airdrop happen, and they will share the exact date as soon as they can.”

On August 1, OKX will commence pre-market futures trading for the forthcoming HMSTR token.

Regarding Hamster Kombat

In-game coins are awarded to players for touching on a cartoonish hamster in Hamster Kombat, a popular game integrated into the messaging platform Telegram. Additionally, users are compensated for investing their currencies in enhancing a fictional crypto exchange.

The game has garnered over 250 million users in the past few months due to its viral nature. It has also faced criticism from government officials due to its accelerated expansion.

Hamster Kombat has announced its intention to introduce a token on the TON blockchain and distribute it to participants through an airdrop, similar to the Telegram game Notcoin. The NOT token, introduced in May by Notcoin, quickly established itself as the most valuable gaming token launch of 2024 in market capitalization.

OKX is the most recent addition to a list of prominent exchanges, including Gate.io, Kucoin, Bybit, and Bitget, that have enabled pre-market trading for the token. Nevertheless, the Hamster Kombat team must still disclose the conversion rate from in-game coins to on-chain tokens, which renders pre-market trading particularly hazardous.
