HashKey Unveils Ethereum Layer 2 Mainnet Launch Date

The Hong Kong-based group has verified the timeline for launching the Hashkey Chain Ethereum Layer 2 mainnet this year in a post on platform X.

According to a recent announcement on X (formerly Twitter) by the Hong Kong-based digital asset services provider, HashKey Group, The HashKey Chain is scheduled to début in the final quarter of 2024.

Timeline for the Launch of the Hashkey Chain

The mainnet is scheduled to launch in Q4, as indicated in the post on X by Hashkey Chain. Therefore, the launch will be visible from October to December. HashKey Group disclosed its intentions to establish an Ethereum Layer 2 network known as HashKey Chain at the 2024 Hong Kong Web3 Festival in April.

Additionally, the network will implement zero-knowledge-proof technology to improve the group’s Web3 ecosystem by providing developer-friendly, efficient, and cost-effective on-chain services. Hashkey Chain is launching its testnet within the next six months, and the mainnet is expected to follow in less than one year.

In addition, the development of HashKey Chain is anticipated to be a collaborative endeavor that involves incubators, entrepreneurship camps, venture capitalists, and think institutes. Future3 Campus, ThreeDAO, and HashKey Capital are among the collaborators.

The initiative’s objective is to offer co-builders a comprehensive package of incentives, which includes assistance with technical development, product strategy, resource integration, and financing.

Moreover, HashKey Group underscores the network’s capacity to achieve improved scalability and cost efficacy by utilizing zero-knowledge-proof technology.

As a result, this technology is enhanced by a user-friendly blockchain browser and a comprehensive developer toolset, which facilitates developer engagement with the network.

Mainnet security continues to be a high priority. The organization intends to engage the community in security testing and implement independent code audits to guarantee a secure and resilient platform.

The network aims to establish a safe and automated developer environment supported by the platform token HSK.

Regarding the Ethereum Layer 2 Mainnet

HashKey Chain is anticipated to provide diverse on-chain services, such as application deployment, investment, and trading. The network’s objective is to demonstrate the transformative potential of Web3 technologies by attracting a substantial influx of users and assets to the Web3 ecosystem.

HashKey Cloud, a web3 infrastructure provider and a division of the organization, will be responsible for powering the Ethereum Layer 2 chain. Since 2018, HashKey Cloud has offered node validation services to more than 80 public chains, highlighting its reliability and proficiency in blockchain.

In a recent development, the group obtained the requisite license in Bermuda to establish a new crypto exchange, HashKey Global, which began operations on Monday.

This follows the company’s successful Series A funding round in January, which raised nearly $100 million. HashKey Group is preparing for an additional round of funding, which is expected later this year.

The Ethereum L2 Mainnet launch is a significant milestone for HashKey Group as it broadens its digital asset services sector presence. It offers a developer-friendly, secure, and scalable Ethereum Layer 2 network.
