Kuo: New Apple Watch to Feature Larger Screen, Thinner Design

Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo stated the new Apple Watch will feature a thinner design, larger screen, and components made with 3D-printing technology

In a blog post published Monday, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo stated that the forthcoming Apple Watch will be thinner and feature a larger screen.

Apple is anticipated to release the Apple Watch Series 10 in September when the company will typically unveil its next collection of wearables and new iPhone models.

According to Kuo, the screen sizes of the two Apple Watch variants will increase from 41 to 44 millimeters and from 45 to 49 millimeters.

Kuo says the Apple Watch Ultra model’s specifications will remain “roughly the same.” However, a darker case option may be introduced if production yields meet expectations.

Kuo stated that the watch will incorporate components produced using 3D printing technology beginning in the latter half of the year.

Apple has yet to mass-produce devices using 3D printing. To decrease manufacturing materials and time required, the organization implemented 3D printing to produce the Apple Watch Series 9 in 2023.

“The testing significantly enhanced” production efficiency, according to Kuo.

According to Kuo, Bright Laser Technologies will supply the 3D-printed watch components.

He stated that the cost advantages of 3D printing are anticipated to increase the demand for shipments of the parts produced by the China-based 3D printing company.

Kuo also mentioned the potential for the technology to be employed in producing Apple Watch cases.
