Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene sparks headlines after publicly criticizing Grok, Elon Musk’s AI chatbot, over its political tone and responses
Grok, Elon Musk’s AI chatbot, encountered a “bug” last week that caused it to inform users about the “white genocide” conspiracy theory in South Africa even though the questions it was asked were unrelated to the subject matter. Shortly thereafter, Grok expressed skepticism regarding the Holocaust mortality toll, attributing it to a “programming error.”
However, Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) has determined that Elon Musk’s robot baby Grok is too far left, a decision that displays a level of mental acrobatics that would embarrass Simone Biles.

She shared a screenshot in which Grok asserts that Greene is a Christian, publicly declaring her faith in Jesus. However, she also acknowledges that Christians are concerned about her advocacy for conspiracy theories such as QAnon.
Grok wrote in the screenshot Greene shared that “Critics, including religious leaders, argue that her actions contradict Christian values of love and unity, citing her defense of January 6 and divisive rhetoric.”
The app has been experiencing disruptions for hours, potentially related to yesterday’s fires in its Oregon data center. X was already having a particularly challenging day.
However, despite her reputation as a disseminator of detrimental misinformation and conspiracies, Greene ultimately made a compelling argument: “When individuals abandon their discernment, cease to pursue the truth, and rely on AI to analyze information, they will be at a loss,” she stated on X.
