Moonbirds’ NFT Spike Comes After Sale Of Intellectual Property

Following the transfer of the intellectual property to Orange Cap Games by NFT company Yuga Labs, the most significant increase in Moonbirds NFT sales in recent months has also been indicating investor excitement.

The game development studio revealed on May 30 that it had purchased the intellectual property of Yuga Labs’ Ethereum-based NFT collections Moonbirds, Mythics, and Oddities.

With Orange Cap Games assuming creative and developmental leadership of the project, the acquisition signaled a change for the Moonbirds ecology.

Moonbirds “deserve a team whose whole world is the birds,” according to Greg Solano, CEO of Yuga Labs.

According to the Yuga Labs executive, Orange Cap Games is the ideal custodian to assist Moonbirds in realizing its full potential.

Vibes, a hybrid trading card game that combines digital and physical gameplay aspects, was created by Orange Cap Games.

With the help of the Pudgy Penguins IP, players can gather and exchange cards in the game’s virtual and real worlds.

In May, NFTs Break Their Declining Trend

The increase in Moonbirds NFT sales coincides with a rebound in digital collectibles in May, which ended a decline in 2025.

Following a five-month drop since December 2024, this was the first monthly sales improvement of 2025.

Additionally, the number of unique NFT buyers increased significantly during the month, hitting 936,000.

This number represents a 50% rise over the 622,000 recorded in April.
