According to the outage tracking website Downdetector.com, Starlink’s services affected forty-one thousand three hundred ninety-three users earlier today for about an hour.

Starlink of SpaceX, which controls an estimated sixty percent of the 7,500 satellites in orbit around the Earth, dominates the satellite internet sphere.

According to a notification from the Insider Paper, the service has experienced more than 240 disruptions in the past twenty-four hours.

Services Restored

“The network issue has been completely resolved,” Starlink announced in a post on X (formerly Twitter), a social media platform owned by Elon Musk.

The Starlink outage on May 29 had a minimum impact of 41,393 users for at least an hour, according to data gathered by the outage monitoring website Downdetector.com.

With nearly 60 percent of the almost 7,500 satellites in orbit around the Earth, Starlink, introduced in 2019, is the market leader in the satellite internet industry. Additionally, OneWeb, Telesat, and Viasat are competitors.

Proposed Starlink Expansion

The SpaceX division made headlines earlier this month for surpassing 30 crore (3 million) users in 99 countries and its expansion plans in Asia.

Elon Musk initiated the Starlink satellite internet service in Indonesia on May 19, days after his unexpected visit to China. A visit to Sri Lanka, adjacent to India, may succeed his visit to Indonesia.

At the 10th World Water Forum in Bali, the tech magnate was observed discussing potential Starlink service opportunities with Sri Lanka’s President Ranil Wickremesinghe.

The SpaceX founder was also scheduled to make significant announcements during his month-long voyage to India a month ago. Nevertheless, the tour was canceled because of the “heavy obligations” of the CEO of Tesla.

Elon Musk has declared his intention to travel to India later this year. The significant revelations were anticipated to concern the $2–3 billion electric vehicle factory in India and Starlink-related developments.
