New iPad mini Offers Apple Pencil Support, AI Integration

Apple showed off a new iPad mini on Tuesday that has been updated for the age of Apple Intelligence

The new phone is driven by the A7 Pro chip, which makes it work with Apple Intelligence, the company’s new generative AI service.

As of now, this is the first big update to the 8.3-inch device since 2021. The A17 Pro, on the other hand, was announced last year and came with the iPhone 15 Pro. That high-end phone was the first official Apple phone to allow Apple Intelligence. Back in September, at an event, the feature was added to the brand-new iPhone 16 line.

The A17 Pro has two performance cores and four efficiency cores for speed. It also has a five-core GPU. The speed of both should be much better than the A16 Bionic that came with the 2021 model. The neural engine gives 18 users of iPadOS access to Apple Intelligence. This is the big news in that area.

Some of the best things about Apple’s small-model answer to apps like ChatGPT and Google Gemini are the writing tools and the completely redesigned Siri experience. But Apple Intelligence is still not finished yet. Other features are still being worked on, such as making graphics in Image Playground and integrating ChatGPT with Apple Intelligence.

With this update, Apple Intelligence can now be found on all iPads. However, it is the only one with a mobile chip, unlike the M4 chip found in the newest iPad and iPad Pro. The older M2 chip is used in the iPad Air.

The updated Calculator app, which can read handwriting notes, is also coming to the new iPad. In this way, the mini works with Apple’s Pencil and Pencil Pro, giving artists and people who like to write notes more options.

The 12-megapixel wide-angle camera on the back of the phone works with Smart HDR 4 to make shots with more even lighting. Instead of moving up to FaceID, offered on the Pro model, the mini keeps the TouchID feature built into the Power button.

The new iPad costs $499 for 128GB of storage, twice as much as the old iPad. On the other hand, the iPad mini with a cellular connection starts at $649. You can order the tablet today, which will be sent to you on October 23.
