According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the Mac mini will be the subsequent Apple device to discontinue USB-A
Apple customers have likely become accustomed to seeing familiar rectangular USB-A ports supplanted by their thinner USB-C counterparts. Despite the benefits of USB-C, the transition can occasionally result in users being perplexed and frantically searching for adapters.
In contrast, Gurman asserts that the Mac mini will undergo a substantial redesign this autumn, even though it has not been updated since 2010. The updated models will include Apple’s new M4 chip, five USB-C connectors, an Ethernet port, an HDMI connector, and a headphone jack. However, the USB-A connectors will be eliminated.
The new iPhone 16 is anticipated to be announced at Apple’s “Glowtime” press event on September 9. The announcement of the new Mac lineup may not occur until later in the autumn.
