OKX has expanded its European presence by establishing a presence in Belgium, made possible by a partnership with the local payment provider, Bancontact, which provides free Euro deposits
OKX, a crypto exchange based in the Seychelles, has recently expanded its services to Belgium. The exchange and wallet provide a variety of crypto services, including spot trading and conversion.
The company announced in a press release on November 28 that Belgian customers now have access to over 200 cryptocurrencies, including over 60 crypto-euro trading combinations, as well as Euro deposits and withdrawals.
According to the exchange, the expansion in Belgium is facilitated by Bancontact, Belgium’s online payment system, which enables customers to deposit funds instantaneously and without incurring any fees. Fee-free SEPA withdrawals and deposits are also accessible.
Erald Ghoos, the general manager of OKX Europe, has stated that the launch in Belgium is a “significant milestone in our regional expansion, as it is complemented by a local team and customized services that cater to the distinctive requirements of Belgian customers.”
The Belgian introduction is a component of OKX’s overarching strategy to expand its presence throughout Europe. The exchange made its debut in the Netherlands earlier in 2024 and announced its intention to establish a regulatory center in Malta, where it obtained a Class 4 Virtual Financial Assets license in 2021.
The exchange has announced that it intends to list supplementary tokens for Belgian users as part of its ongoing product expansion. However, the specifics of this initiative have not yet been disclosed.
