OpenAI Gives Nonprofits Discounts on ChatGPT

OpenAI will offer nonprofit organizations discounts on corporate ChatGPT subscriptions on Thursday to boost enterprise sales of its artificial intelligence platform

Large nonprofit organizations will receive a 50% discount on the enterprise-grade version of ChatGPT through this program. Rather than $25 or $30 per user, ChatGPT Team is priced at $20 per month for smaller nonprofits.

ChatGPT, a consumer-oriented application published by OpenAI in November 2022, sparked an all-out frenzy of generative AI usage in routine activities such as coding and writing and became the application that amassed 100 million users the quickest.

The company has recently courted large organizations to purchase its ChatGPT enterprise product, from which it intends to generate more revenue.

Additionally, a partnership between the organization and the International Rescue Committee (IRC) was declared on Thursday.

The IRC, a New York-based nonprofit organization that assists those impacted by humanitarian crises such as the conflict in Ukraine, has been awarded $250,000 by OpenAI.

The funds will be used to develop an OpenAI-powered education automaton to aid educators in areas afflicted by crises.

According to the IRC, aprendIA is undergoing pilot testing in countries including Bangladesh and Nigeria.

“Crisis affects 224 million children of school and pre-school age aboard an international scale. “The IRC stated, “…in conflict and crisis settings, educators lack the resources to assist children who face unique challenges.”

AprendIA, according to the IRC, will enable instructors to develop personalized and interactive instructional materials adaptable to various humanitarian contexts.

To enhance its worldwide influence, IRC intends to integrate chatbots into pre-existing messaging platforms, such as Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp, capable of functioning in multiple languages and low-tech devices.
