Opera Launches Redesigned Browser for iOS

Opera has introduced a redesigned version of its iOS browser, offering enhanced features and an improved user experience tailored to Apple’s mobile platform

After evaluating it in the beta phase for weeks, Opera released its redesigned Opera One browser on iOS as a stable release. Aria AI assistant integration, a search bar at the bottom of the browser for effortless browsing, and fast search suggestions while typing are all features of the new browser.

Although the search bar will be the default option, users will have the option to swap to Standard Navigation or Fast Action Button style.Thee search bar canalso be accessed by swiping down, as with Spotlight search on iOS.

Autocomplete options are typically offered when inputting a query into the search engine. Opera will now provide autocomplete options in chipsets below the search box to expedite your search.

The organization also disclosed that it has implemented minor browser design modifications. When scrolling on a page, the browser will conceal the bottom and upper bars to enable a full-screen view. Additionally, the hue of the top status bar will correspond with the website’s theme.

Opera is also transitioning from its previous newsfeed to a new carousel view featuring personalized news, live scores, and product recommendations.

Aria, the AI-powered assistant, was introduced to the iOS version in August 2023 after the company unveiled it in May 2023. The assistant can now generate images and accept voice input with the Opera One release.

Sensors Sensor Tower, an app analytics firm, reported that the Opera browser has been downloaded on iOS more than 50 million times since 2020.

Nevertheless, the browser’s annual growth has reached a plateau, with downloads increasing by 58%, 25%, and 4% in 2021, 2022, and 2023, respectively.

Opera’s largest market is the European Union. In Q2 2024, the browser experienced a 122% increase in downloads due to regulatory changes that mandated iOS to provide users with a browser choice interface.
