Partiful, Google’s ‘Best App’ of 2024

Google selected Partiful, a New York-based event-planning software that competes with Evite, Eventbrite, and Facebook Events, its app of the year on Monday as part of its “best apps and games of 2024” list

The top game, AFK Journey, was also highlighted in the list, as well as other category winners such as the best multi-device applications, hidden gems, and those dedicated to specific platforms, such as watches or TVs.

Joy Tao and Shreya Murthy, both of whom were alumni of Palanitr, established Partiful in 2020. In late 2022, the company completed a $20 million Series A1 round.

According to data from PitchBook, the round was led by Andreessen Horowitz and resulted in a total funding of $27.34 million for Partiful, which was valued at $120 million pre-money.

Abstract Ventures, Initialized Capital Management, ACME Capital, GV, New Enterprise Associates, and Benchmark were also involved in the round.

Partiful, which is frequently referred to as a “Gen Z favorite” due to its youthful user base, enables individuals to create event pages and invite their peers via a link that is frequently transmitted via text messages.

Although the app is not required for users to respond to party invitations, Partfiful event organizers can utilize the app to manage RSVPs, send updates, upload images, add questionnaires, and perform other party-planning tasks, such as raising funds if necessary or restricting the number of open spaces.

The application also enables users to monitor their party and event invitations in a single location and transfer this information to their preferred calendar.

The company reported that its monthly active consumers had exceeded the “millions” mark by the conclusion of 2023.

Given that a significant portion of its user base is on iOS, the application is an intriguing candidate for the title of “App of the Year” on Google Play.

Partiful has generated 1,077,358 downloads thus far this year, as indicated by data from analytics firm Appfigures. However, the Apple App Store accounted for 95% of these downloads.

The United States is the country in which Partiful is most popular, with 92% of its App Store downloads and 97% of the total on Google Play. The app is built with React Native.

Appfigures reports that its weekly downloads increased by fourfold this year, and a recent surge on November 1 resulted in 71,000 downloads for the week.
