Guild Wars Season 2: Spore Sports will distribute $4 million worth of PIXEL tokens from the Ethereum farming game on the Ronin network.
With $4 million worth of PIXEL tokens up for grabs, the cryptocurrency farming and social game on the Ethereum gaming network Ronin is preparing to launch its most recent Guild Wars competitive season, Spore Sports.
The three-month event, between December 10, 2024, and March 4, 2025, will test players’ ability to form guilds and engage in gaming that revolves around strategic sabotage and mushroom cultivation.
In a statement, Pixels founder and CEO Luke Barwikowski said, “This season builds on the success of our inaugural Guild Wars, which resulted in more PIXEL being burned than distributed, and incorporates feedback to deliver an even more rewarding experience.” “With this event, we’re testing the limits of Web3 gaming and setting the stage for frequent, sizable competitions that will benefit the ecosystem.”
In addition to producing and harvesting mushrooms, players can interfere with opponents’ farms, climb the leaderboards, and engage in other cooperative and competitive activities. Players can accrue awards such as Guild Runes, PIXEL, and unique in-game items through solo and group efforts.
Tier-4 Ultimate Items, which the makers claim are potent game-changing relics that can be unlocked through particular in-game actions in the Cave Hub Map, are also introduced during the event.
After switching to Ronin in late 2023, it enjoyed a spike in activity and has now accumulated over 8 million players. The February PIXEL drop was one of the year’s most significant gaming token launches.
According to CoinGecko data, PIXEL is down over 4% on the day at a price of roughly $0.28, but it has increased 96% over the last 30 days.
