The social media platform Reddit encountered an additional outage this morning at approximately 7 a.m. PT, following the one that occurred yesterday afternoon
Currently, the website and app are inaccessible to thousands of users. Up from the 47,000 users who reported issues yesterday, 51,221 users have reported issues on Downdetector.com as of this writing.
Reddit’s status page indicates that the platform is currently experiencing subpar performance.
“We implemented an update that resulted in some instability,” a spokesperson informed TechCrunch. We have reverted and are currently witnessing a resurgence in Reddit.
The initial outage was identified yesterday when we attempted to access the homepage. A black screen with the message “Upstream connect error or disconnect/reset before headers” was displayed. Reason for reset: connection failure.
The iOS application exclusively displayed the deceased Snoo cranium, which serves as Reddit’s alien mascot. Four hours later, the issue was resolved.
The comment from Reddit was incorporated into this narrative after it was published.
