Samsung explores integrating Perplexity’s AI technology into its smartphones, signaling a deeper focus on on-device intelligence and search features
Bloomberg reported that Samsung is nearing an investment in AI search startup Perplexity. The investment would also result in the Korean tech giant integrating Perplexity’s technology into its devices. Anonymous sources were cited in the report.
According to the report, Samsung is engaged in discussions regarding the pre-installation of Perplexity’s app and assistant on its smartphones and the integration of its search capabilities into the default browser. Samsung is one of the largest investors in the AI company’s most recent fundraising round.

Bloomberg also reported that the companies are discussing the possibility of utilizing Perplexity’s AI technology to power certain features of Samsung’s assistant, Bixby. The partnership could be unveiled this year.
