Shibarium Burns Just 1 Billion Tokens So Far

Shibarium Burns Just 1 Billion Tokens So Far

In August 2023, the Shibarium layer-2 solution was introduced to the Shiba Inu ecosystem with considerable pomp and grandeur.

It was one of the most significant occasions in the SHIB community following its listing on the Robinhood exchange in April 2022. Investors anticipated the network would consume trillions of tokens, and the hype and buzz reached their zenith.

The Shiba Inu team of developers also informed the community that the Shibarium burning would be conducted on a larger scale.

Nevertheless, the burns will be contingent upon the daily volume of transactions on the network.

The network will collect transaction fees divided into two categories: network maintenance and development, and burning SHIB tokens.

Shibarium: Is it planned to burn one trillion Shiba Inu tokens?

Until June 2025, Shibarium has burned only 1 billion Shiba Inu tokens in the 22 months since its inception. The scale is modest, and if the current consumption rate persists, it could require 100 years to consume 1 trillion SHIB tokens.

In this context, we exclusively discuss 1 trillion tokens instead of the total circulating supply of over 549 trillion tokens.

Sending 549 trillion Shiba Inu would require an eternity if Shibarium requires 100 years to consume 1 trillion tokens. Consequently, relying on Shibarium to transfer tokens to the deceased wallet is unwise.

The community or other third-party applications must establish an alternative platform for fires.

Shibarium may never elevate the price of Shiba Inu beyond $0.01 if the ecosystem continues to progress at this pace.

The 1 Cent dream may never become a reality and remain a distant fantasy even after your grandchildren reach old age. Consequently, Shibarium is not an appropriate treatment for burns due to its small size.
