Telegram Enables Paid Content Sharing in Channels

Last month, Telegram introduced a digital currency known as Stars for in-app use and the company is currently expanding its use cases to include paid content

The messaging application also enables channels to convert the stars they possess to Toncoin, the cryptocurrency that Telegram employs over The Open Network (TON) blockchain. Conversely, they may use them to obtain discounts for channel promotions.

The company initially introduced stars to facilitate the purchase of digital products from bots and applications within Telegram. Content creators can publish content that users can access using a password.

Utilizing the Fragment platform, the application permits channel proprietors to withdraw stars and convert them to Toncoin. If you possess Toncoin, you can trade cryptocurrency on various exchanges and transfer funds to your bank account.

Telegram has been employing this portal to auction identities over the TON blockchain, which is particularly noteworthy.
Alternatively, channel proprietors may utilize stars to obtain a discount on advertisements, which they can use to advertise their channels.

Telegram is also incorporating a Mini App bar at the bottom of its most recent update to enable users to access mini-apps without the need to reload them rapidly.

Additionally, the organization has implemented several novel methods for users to locate narratives. They can now access all public stories with that hashtag in the caption by tapping on it. Searching for hashtags in your public channel chats and communications using the app is already possible.

In the same vein, users can now include a location tag in their stories and access all public stories from the exact location by swiping on the tag.

To achieve profitability and a billion active users, Telegram has implemented numerous business-oriented features this year, including the ability for small businesses to specify their location and operating hours. This enables them to select Telegram over alternatives such as WhatsApp.

The company also introduced customized start pages, predefined greeting and departure messages, and support for chatbots for businesses in April.
