The messaging app Telegram, which accepts crypto, is going through severe disruptions, and many users are having trouble accessing the messenger’s content.
Starting at approximately 10:30 am UTC on October 3, Telegram has been experiencing significant disruptions across multiple nations.
Data from Downdetector indicates that beginning on October 3 at about 10:30 am UTC, hundreds of the app users reported problems with the server connection.
The most common complaints concerned the app’s connection troubles and difficulties sending and receiving messages.
Absence. According to a report on X, Telegram has not been operational since 10:22 am. The connectivity issue reportedly impacted users from countries like Ukraine, Belarus, Poland, Kazakhstan, Russia, the Netherlands, and Germany.
The most recent disruptions, as reported by Downdetector, came after a lesser outage that was noticed on October 2.
The interruptions coincided with Telegram CEO Pavel Durov‘s suggestion on October 2 that the messenger has been giving law enforcement access to offenders’ IP addresses since 2018.
The CEO is presently the subject of a French inquiry; on August 28, French authorities indicted Durov on six counts of improper activities on the messaging app.
