Telegram mini-app developers can now earn toncoin with Adsgram, a tool distinct from the advertising tools previously available on Telegram.
Adsgram, a novel traffic monetization tool, is set to debut on the Telegram communicator. It enables developers to generate Toncoin (TON) by advertising within their mini-applications.
Adsgram, a new third-party platform on Telegram, has been formally introduced by the TON Community. It allows developers to connect their mini-apps, or bots, to an advertising system and earn Toincoin TON by displaying ads.
The platform is distinct from the Telegram Ads platform, which was introduced in March as an official Telegram ad platform for channel owners.
The TON Community announced on June 25 that Adsgram provides a diverse selection of ad formats, such as static banners, 15-second video ads, and the forthcoming channel subscription feature.
Adsgram’s ad system monitors the click-through rate, conversions, and fill rate, supporting fundamental ad payment models like the cost per thousand impressions (CPM) and cost per mille.
Adsgram’s network had already reached 8 million impressions per day as of May 2024, as indicated by a presentation on the platform’s official channel.
Most traffic originates from countries such as Nigeria, Bangladesh, and Germany, and the network includes mini-apps such as Fonton Fantasy Football and Gamee at its inception.
According to the presentation, Adsgram’s advertisers consist of “several tier-1 exchanges,” TON-based games and services, and wagering from TON and non-TON sources. Depending on the audience, developers are offered CPMs ranging from 0.5 TON ($3.8) to 2 TON ($16) with Adsgram.
According to Vadim Sterlin, co-founder of Adsgram, the new advertising platform is designed to address the issue of monetization in the game finance (GameFi) sector on Telegram and within the TON ecosystem.
In February, Sterlin wrote on the Adsgram channel, “As the founder of a significant game in the Telegram ecosystem, Fantongamebot, I encountered a significant obstacle in monetizing our game.” He observed that publishers could not generate revenue through advertising but rather direct ad sales by then.
Adsgram’s official launch occurred just a few months after the platform was awarded a $50,000 grant from the TON Foundation to develop its minimum viable product.
Adsgram began its initial advertising campaign in early April by conducting an alpha test with the game Fanton Fantasy Football, founded by Sterlin and known as Fantongamebot.
The TON ecosystem has experienced a significant increase in activity, increasing the total value of various TON projects by at least 4,500% in 2024. This coincides with the launch of Adsgram.
Toncoin, the native cryptocurrency of TON, has also experienced significant growth in recent months, reaching a high of $8.17 on June 14, per CoinGecko data.
