Telegram NFT Activity Explodes 400% in Q3

According to Helika’s Web3 Gaming Report, over a million unique wallets moved NFTs in Telegram in September, up from less than 200,000 in July.

Non-fungible tokens, or NFTs, are becoming increasingly popular on the messaging software platform as Telegram users interact with Web3.

The third quarter saw a 400% increase in NFT activity on the platform, according to research by Web3 data provider Helika.

According to Helika’s data, the number of unique wallets moving NFTs daily on Telegram increased from less than 200,000 in July to over one million in September, as reported in its “Q3 ’24 Telegram Games’ Report.”

Growth in NFT usage on Telegram

Helika observed that players on the platform are engaged in sending, buying, and using NFTs within the games. The business stated:

“Our data indicates that gamers on Telegram are not just creating wallets but are also actively engaging with NFTs, suggesting a dynamic and vibrant level of interaction within the ecosystem.”

Additionally, Helika reported that nine different Telegram games had three million active wallets in September.

Gamers on the platform have not only been playing longer but also more NFT activities. Helika reports that a user’s average gaming session grew from 2.8 minutes in August to 6.7 minutes at the beginning of October.

Helika credited the platform’s more immersive experiences for the growth.

Integrating NFTs into Hamster Kombat

Hamster Kombat is among the most played games on Telegram. After its release, the game gained popularity and now has over 300 million players.

The game disclosed its intention to incorporate NFTs on September 25. The Web3 clicker game announced it would include NFTs as in-game currency and release additional games within its ecosystem. The game stated that it would incorporate NFTs into Season 2 in November in its roadmap for 2024 and 2025.

A trailer for the game’s second season was released on October 17. The game makers hinted at a new plot point in the trailer involving players taking CEO roles in their businesses.
