USDT Stablecoin issuer Tether is establishing a strategic partnership with Vietnam to provide blockchain and crypto education. This announcement was made on Tuesday.
Tether Operations Limited, the parent company of the stablecoin that is consistently guaranteed by the US dollar, has partnered with the Vietnam Blockchain Association (VBA) to provide public stakeholders with information about the emerging technology.
According to the official statement, the partners aim to organize seminars and conferences to “promote the development of capacity and the exchange of knowledge” within the blockchain industry.
According to a local report, during an annual forum, the VBA established the Academy of Blockchain and AI Innovation on April 24. By 2030, the education wing intends to enroll one million individuals, including 100,000 students from 30 institutions in Vietnam.
The academy comprises an executive committee, a scientific council, and a board of directors, all distinguished blockchain experts.
Vietnam ranked third in total crypto earnings, with $1.18 billion, according to the 2023 crypto gains report by Chainalysis. The nation demonstrated robust cryptocurrency adoption that remained notably resilient despite the recent bear market.
Furthermore, 17% of Vietnamese individuals possess or possess cryptocurrencies, with most of these individuals falling within the 25-34 age bracket.
Tether Sees a More Comprehensive Stablecoin Education
Tether’s collaboration with the VBA aims to disseminate information regarding the potential of digital finance to the local communities in Vietnam. Consequently, the partners will organize five educational conferences in prominent locations like Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
“We are enthusiastic about partnering with VBA to disseminate information regarding blockchain technologies as practical solutions to the distinctive obstacles encountered by Vietnamese communities,” stated Paolo Ardoino, CEO of Tether.
The joint training and research programs proposed by VBA will also generate comprehensive learning and development opportunities for the younger generation.
Phan Duc Trung, vice chairman of VBA, asserts that this will enable them to “confidently enter the digital era and enhance their fintech knowledge.”
Moreover, the UniTour 2024 program was implemented by the Blockchain Academy with a particular emphasis on university students. This initiative has already provided valuable knowledge about blockchain applications per university requirements and will be supported by Tether.
