The Browser Company Launches $20 AI Browser Plan

Dia, a new web browser that incorporates AI features extensively, has been introduced by The Browser Company as a Pro subscription plan.

The plan offers unrestricted access to Dia’s AI-powered chat and skills features for a monthly fee of $20.

With the implementation of a paid tier, AI features will now be subject to utilization restrictions for free users. Although The Browser Company has not specified precise restrictions, CEO Josh Miller informed The New York Times in July that the browser will remain free for individuals who utilize AI features “a few times a week.”

Miller also stated that the startup intends to provide a variety of subscription tiers, with prices spanning from $5 per month to hundreds of dollars per month. The current $20 plan is one of several options predicated on varying feature sets.

Users on Reddit and Threads observed that The Browser Company had quietly made the Pro plan accessible online earlier this week. Nevertheless, the organization promptly eliminated the page.

The subscription option has been reinstated and is now accessible through Dia’s preferences page.

The Browser Company, which was previously responsible for the development of the Arc browser, has secured $128 million in funding from a variety of investors, including Pace Capital, Next Play Ventures, and prominent technology executives such as LinkedIn’s Jeff Weiner, Ev Williams of Medium, Dylan Field of Figma, Akshay Kothari of Notion, and Jason Warner of GitHub.

This Pro plan is the organization’s inaugural revenue-generating subscription service.

The startup is encountering increasing competition in the realm of AI-enhanced browsers.

Opera is also preparing its Neon browser, and incumbents like Google and Microsoft are integrating their AI assistants into their browsers. Additionally, Perplexity’s Comet browser is gaining momentum.
