TikTok Accounts Become Divorce Fodder

The hardest part of Kat and Mike Stickler’s divorce was figuring out how to split their TikTok account, which had millions of fans and made a lot of money, according to the WSJ

\More and more couples and divorce lawyers are having trouble determining how to value social media accounts and what to keep when a pair breaks up.

Kat Stickler took over the couple’s TikTok account, and her growing fan base helped her buy a new house. On the other hand, her husband had his YouTube account shut down. Reports say he changed careers and is now in sales.

It might sound funny, but splitting these assets and figuring out how they can grow in the future is not a joke since social media sites can offer real money-making chances.

This is what celebrity Vivian Tu told the WSJ: “My social media is my resume.” Tu cares about this subject because he writes about it. In June, before she married, she wrote a prenup named her social media.
