He used to be known as someone who opposed cryptocurrency, but after losing his bid for reelection as U.S. President in 2021, he rose to prominence in the cryptocurrency industry.

After going to the Bitcoin Conference 2024 in Nashville, he became pro-crypto before this year’s election. Several Republican senators support his crypto-friendly plan, which includes a Bitcoin Strategic Reserve. If he wins re-election, he wants to present it to Congress.

He has chosen several crypto-friendly people for his government now that he is back in office, such as Elon Musk and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Also, Trump chose Scott Bessent to be Secretary of the Treasury, calling him “the most pro-crypto Treasury we’ve ever seen.”
