On Monday, Trump Media & Technology Group, which owns Truth Social, announced its inclusion in the Russell Indexes’ annual reconstitution
The Russell 3000 index comprises the Russell 1000 index, which is comprised of large-cap stocks, and the Russell 2000 index, which comprises small-cap names.
Both of these indexes are included in the Russell Portfolio. In addition, there are style indexes, such as the Russell 1000 Growth Index and the Russell 2000 Value Index.
After the United States market closed on June 28, Trump Media was incorporated into the Russell 1000 and Russell 3000 indices. This inclusion took effect immediately.
In contrast to other index providers, FTSE Russell only reconstitutes its indexes once a year, except by adding initial public offerings every quarter. This is because some index providers continually renew their indexes to maintain a predetermined number of components.
Fund managers and investors are prompted to adjust their portfolios to comply with the new weightings and components due to this annual selection.
