VAST Data Adds New Features to Google Cloud

VAST Data, an AI data platform startup, has made its VAST Data Platform available through Google Cloud

Through the integration of Google Cloud into the global namespace of the VAST Data Platform, companies are able to deploy multi-node VAST Clusters either independently or in conjunction with on-premises VAST clusters.

Through this integration, users are granted access to the full range of platform functionalities, which are compatible with hybrid as well as native environments of Google Cloud.

The VAST DataSpace is a component of the VAST Data Platform. It is a global namespace that offers a unified and consistent data management layer for the purpose of accessing, transferring, managing, and protecting structured and unstructured data across edge, on-premises, and hybrid multi-cloud environments.

VAST Data Add New Features to Google Cloud

This layer extends beyond a single cluster. VAST’s market-disrupting DASE design, which separates data persistence and processing logic and enables capacity and performance to be increased separately, makes this possible.

In light of businesses’ growing datasets and the incorporation of cloud computing, this architectural design provides improved scalability, flexibility, and performance for a wide range of workloads and the specific requirements that each imposes. It also improves resource consumption and increases cost savings in the cloud.

Because of this, it is no longer necessary for users or apps to handle duplicate copies of their data, which eventually enables cooperation and effective scalability among a large number of users or applications in hybrid cloud settings with many locations.

As a consequence of the integration of VAST with Google Cloud, customers are able to effortlessly migrate data from their on-premises infrastructure to the cloud. This allows customers to take advantage of the platform’s elastic capabilities.

VAST is providing assistance to its clients and partners in the following ways by exploiting the newly integrated features of the VAST Data Platform with Google Cloud:

The global namespace of the VAST Data Platform enables a unified, application- and user-transparent view of data across Google Cloud and enterprise data centers.

This view allows data to be served wherever it is requested while adhering to security and access protocols, simplifying the process of managing data in a hybrid cloud architecture.

Facilitate Team Collaboration Among Individuals Who Are Geographically Dispersed: By implementing predictive prefetching, globally scattered companies are able to access files and objects stored locally in any area with lightning-fast speed.

This is in contrast to the traditional method of depending on duplicates of the data that are distributed across various data centers located in different regions of Google Cloud.

Through its integration with data pipelines and applications like Apache Spark, the VAST DataBase makes it possible to speed up the process of feature engineering for artificial intelligence (AI). Spark clusters, which can achieve considerable computational efficiency by connecting with the VAST DataBase, can be established by businesses with the help of Google Cloud.

The VAST Data Platform enables organizations to uphold the fundamental tenets of Zero Trust across clouds by implementing granular access control, multitenancy with strict isolation, robust encryption, key management, and intelligent threat detection capabilities.

This allows for the establishment of cyber resilience through the utilization of a zero-trust architecture. A comprehensive and secure data management system is provided by the platform, in addition to functionality for data indexing and search capabilities, as well as cataloging through the use of tags and metadata.
