Worldcoin’s WorldID To Arrive On Solana

Wormhole was awarded $70,000 by the Worldcoin Foundation to facilitate WorldID verification on the Solana blockchain

Worldcoin’s WorldID To Arrive On Solana

In a statement issued on June 27, Worldcoin stated that the ID integration initiative will “provide the Solana ecosystem with a necessary tool” for verifying human identity.

25,000 WLDs are awarded to Wormhole by the grant.

In a more detailed description, Wormhole stated that the grant will enable Solana-based protocols to verify user IDs previously authenticated on the Ethereum blockchain seamlessly.

The propagation of World ID state origins between chains will be achieved through Wormhole Queries in an Ethereum-Solana state bridge service to achieve this. The state bridge service will monitor the World ID contract, which will securely transmit changes to Solana. In Solana, a smart contract stores World ID state roots and verifies inclusion proofs.

Gains from integration
The integration is associated with numerous advantages, as described by Wormhole. This method will enable the exploration of novel applications and illustrate the adaptability of Wormhole’s multichain infrastructure.

Additional integration objectives include simplifying the verification process for developers and guaranteeing future compatibility with future updates and enhancements to verification methods.

In addition, the endeavor is designed to improve security and decentralization by guaranteeing that ID verification is conducted in a manner that protects privacy. It will enhance cross-chain interoperability by enabling more decentralized applications to interact with Ethereum’s identity verification systems.

Finally, the initiative seeks to expand financial inclusion by assisting Worldcoin in granting universal access to the digital economy by servicing ID users worldwide.

Other Worldcoin grants
16 grants totaling 289,000 WLD have been announced by the Worldcoin Foundation.

Axiom, Proof of Passport, Farcaster Humaniser, Alphaday, Only Dust, Encode Club, zkSnap, TACEO, Cometh, Herodotus, World Poll, Agora, Fuzzing Labs, Satori, and BBB & Company are among the other beneficiaries.

Worldcoin’s data acquisition overhaul was previously supported by TACEO.

Recipient projects are responsible for enhancing the Worldcoin ecosystem through various initiatives, including educational and outreach initiatives, research, and development.
